Consciousness is one of the most fascinating energies that exist in the universe; indeed, it is perhaps the only reason for being. It is this light that illuminates our perception and makes it possible for life to be experienced. And what is life? As I once heard someone say, life is one thing after another, a sequence of events, of photograms illuminated by the radiance of awareness, gathered by perception and fixed by attention.
As we have already seen, the Universe is comprised of countless energy fibers of infinite length that span all possible directions and expand throughout space and time, or, rather, they themselves are what create these dimensions. We beings are literally encapsulations of a portion of these fibers. Each species is a particular combination of millions of them, a gigantic cluster (although insignificant in comparison to the totality), a cast that contains the fractal with all possible variations, with each of the forms and functions – both the already manifested and the potential. The mold of the species, in turn, is located within one of the great bands. Although in our universe there may be an infinity of these, the traditions of Central American perceivers reached the consensus that all organic beings on this planet belong to only one of the 48 great bands that converge on Earth. In addition, they saw that there were 7 other bands that generated another kind of life, known as 'inorganic'. The rest of the large bands that are known, up to 48, are purely structural, apparently devoid of life for the time being.
An individual living being is a small cluster in comparison to the mold of its species, a container of luminosity resulting from the action of the binding force (an expression of love) on a finite portion of the infinite emanations of the spirit, a bubble of concrete attention, a conglomerate of self-conscious fields that lives suspended within the immeasurable Abstract.
Death is the active force of infinity, in a sense, it is what forces beings to move. In Nagualism it was called the tumbler, the one that drives experimentation whilst, at the same time, generating entropy and disorder. Death is literally intertwined with life, which is an energy field that the ancient seers called the circular force, the vital wave. The union of the two forces is called the rolling force. The ancient perceivers were able to see it as a pulsating flow of energy that continuously reaches from the depths of the cosmos, rhythmically striking the receptacles of luminosity that we, the living beings, are. Its imbalance causes the luminous cocoon to come to an end and to break down, die – thus re-integrating with infinity the energy-information that was previously encapsulated inside it.
As we already know, within the luminosity of the individual cocoon there is an even brighter area on its surface – the assemblage point – a structure in which it is possible for a seer to observe the alignment of the outer and inner emanations, which are, in reality, the same. The perception of the world, and the world itself, are the result of the selection, intensification and interpretation of the fibres passing through the assemblage point; that is, the transition that occurs when the impersonal fibres of the universe become individual through the phenomenon known as alignment. The consciousness of being and, with it, perception, is the result of the pressure of the outer emanations on the portion of the emanations encapsulated in the luminous cocoon when they are aligned at the assemblage point. Beings of the same species live in their world and perceive it in the same way because their will as a group fixes the assemblage point of each of the individuals in a shared common position. The exact position of the assemblage point in the luminous cocoon determines the characteristics of the world we perceive and how we perceive it. Collective fixation is obtained by interlacing the individual fixations. This fixation was called the first ring of power in Nagualism. On the one hand, this ring sustains the collective mind of the species and, paradoxically, in the human being it is also responsible for the strong sense of individuality, which in turn gives power to the egoic self. Reality is thus perceived, organized, intensified and explained, in other words, converted into experience through the senses and emotions, thanks to the action of the assemblage point, which is what organizes both the individual internal world and its relationship with the collective external world.
Besides will, which is the force that binds things together, there is another universal force called intent, which promotes the movement of the assemblage point into new positions – into new interpretations of reality. The slow and gradual movement of the assemblage point of a particular species into new positions over time and generations has been called evolution by biologists: it is what causes new forms and functions to emerge – it is the group part of horizontal development. These organizational and perceptual conquests are coded, accumulated and transferred through genetics in organic beings. In the case of human beings, there is also a strong cultural and social transmission of information and collective learning. On the other hand, the human individual has the possibility of reaching new and extraordinary positions of the assemblage point in the course of a single lifetime, and for this purpose they must break the fixation of the social and species consensus by their attempt, thereby weakening the influence of the collective ankylosis that inevitably affects their first ring of power.
The individual, on their own, can set the sober goal of exploring with their intent and consolidating through their will new alternative visions that will allow them to expand and transform their explanation of the world. They can thus reclaim their energetic nature, which has been denied or crippled by the social person themselves when they complied with the collective mandate, which may have come in the form of materialistic rationalism, cultural or religious superstition, or any of its variations and combinations. The warrior of consciousness must begin by sublimating his first ring of power, his or her worldly vision of life. In order to do this, they will have to cultivate and deepen its horizontal personal development, that is, the corresponding to the intellectual, creative, economic and social spheres. The quality of your interactions with yourself and the everyday world is crucial if you want to evolve without losing your head, your health or your life. Besides, it will be necessary to practice thoroughly the four psychoenergetic disciplines proposed in Emoenergetica: introspection, relaxation, meditation and recapitulation. Developing an impeccable character and behavior in the world will lead to an increase in sobriety, which will be very useful, as they increase their energy and their attention they should try to give strength, in a balanced way, to the second ring of power, which is more related to the original non-egoic mind, to their energetic being, which can lead them to contemplate levels of reality that are unimaginable to the average person. As a consequence, the seeker of consciousness will no longer pursue the biological evolution of the group, but rather that of the individual consciousness. The individual, thanks to their unbending purpose and sustained impeccability, will experience a reconfiguration of their senses, language and emotions, that is, they will manifest new symmetries with which to enrich the consciousness of being. This is the principle of vertical evolution.
As people, it seems that our destiny and scope of action are only within the physical, family, economic and social order. But as explorers, the destination is the journey itself, a sequence of steps that conceals the choice of freedom, self-discovery and fulfillment. We believed that it was the world we had to explore, but it is the infinite that we can discover.
The person is not the being, although, at our present level of evolution, it tries to appropriate it. The person is important while we are in this world, but not as important as is often believed. It is a disposable suit that others gave a name to at birth. It is often full of fear, perhaps because it knows that it will die. Instead of looking to infinity, it constructs an image of itself; a reflection into which it compulsively fixes its attention to make sure it is still there. It spends enormous amounts of energy looking at itself over and over again, comparing itself to other people and trying to get their attention. Sometimes it feels sorry for itself, or inferior; sometimes it sees itself as very important and thus feels superior to others. Perhaps it just wants to forget the unpleasantness of life, and that is why it seeks to entertain itself, and has simply become accustomed to killing time. Or maybe the person has become addicted to fighting, complaining and yearning; maybe it is just struggling to survive, to endure beyond its death, even if this is within the memory of others. Still, the person is going to die. It doesn't have to be today or tomorrow, but it cannot be prevented. All that energy spent on the egoic self means that the original selfhood receives little nourishment. Therefore, it is normal to find the self that is asleep or dozing, simply leaving the ego to execute its decisions in its own automatic way. If the person stops looking at themselves, stops comparing themselves and observes themselves directly, then the being gains strength. It all depends on how you direct your attention. The egoic mind is an automaton, whose sole purpose is to sustain the social being, exacerbating its personality with the aim of drawing attention to itself, with the intention of stealing the consciousness of being and thus perpetuating itself until death. The being, the original selfhood, the nagual in us, has the capacity to decide, even if it is slumbering – deciding to use the everyday world as a lever to lift the burden of ignorance. The ego tries to convince the self that the world is a hindrance that it will take care of. It is necessary to reflect on this a thousand times, until we understand it. The only power of the ego is to create automatisms, stress and mirages. The gift of being is to choose whether to identify oneself with these or not. We need to break the looking-glass and then dare to witness reality… or not – you decide.
Self-knowledge is the most important part of this complicated journey that we have inherited as human beings. To know is to perceive and to be conscious, to nourish oneself from reality. Perhaps this is the reason for the eternal human search, for the feeling of being incomplete, for this thirst that sometimes scorches, for the feeling of being on an endless journey. Because, if consciousness is what life protects and yearns for, is it not reasonable to seek and want to increase what would be true nourishment, true healing? Consciousness would be the elixir of life that would resurrect the dead inside us. Because in this journey, in the battles we fight, we sometimes lose and something in us dies, and death is the absence of life, the oblivion, the extinction of consciousness.
From the point of view of Emoenergetica, vertical evolution is the process by means of which the capacity to focus attention on ever-larger areas within the infinite sea of existence is increased, breaking the mirage of personal importance during the journey, so that the social entity serves the being and not the other way around. For the time being, society is locked in its own cave, which generates a very limited view of existence. That is why the individual has to choose the vertical path on his own. Even when we are lucky and find fellow travellers, each one of us takes their steps alone.
