25.Energy Levels

A system is a cognitive object composed of elements that relate to each other by means of energy-information flows. In addition to maintaining their inherent functions and forming a whole or unit, some systems are dynamic and evolving, constantly seeking the possibility of expanding and improving their characteristics.

In living systems, individuals relate to their environment, thus forming part of collective suprasystems, exchanging energy-information with the environment in which they exist and with the other individuals with whom they relate. This energy exchange is a fundamental feature of open systems, promoting one of the most important functions for the individual: nutrition. All existing systems inside an attentional bubble are open, since they have an inside and an outside, thus they exchange energy and information with their environment and are nourished. The only truly closed system would be Totality, since it could only relate to itself.

Every living system is made up of a structure that acts as a container, a set of functions that are programs of activity, and a variable amount of useful energy. These three factors (structure, functions, energy) determine the individual's ability to achieve their goals and to interact with the environment.

In a mysterious way, every being has a purpose and a preferential direction in which it may evolve. The possible paths that the individual can travel throughout his or her life are contained in the fractal of possibilities that, in Emoenergetica, is known as the map of destiny. The portion of the map that contains all the possible options for evolution and development – both horizontal and vertical – is known as Sacred Symmetry.

The act of living is sustained by a dynamic and numerous volume of synchronized and intertwined processes, which have as their primary objective the maintenance of the consciousness of being linked to a body that, in turn, is linked to an environment located within an attentional bubble or universe. The living being is forced to move by the passage of time, experiencing changes and cycles that are partly predetermined. These automatic cycles and inertias will influence the structures and functionings of the individual. The changes experienced over time will follow evolutionary or involutionary paths, which will either enhance or limit. This will depend as much on the amount of usable energy available at any given time as on whether the individual's structural symmetry increases or decreases. The actions and automatisms of the living being can lead to an improvement of its functions, structure and energy or, on the contrary, to the loss of previously-available information and characteristics. The actions of the individual are conditioned by their natural and acquired inertia, but even so, the being has a margin of maneuver to go in a non-inertial direction, due to their capacity to decide and manifest their own volition.

Human beings, like any living system, have a consciousness of being and the ability to make decisions.  Depending on the evolutionary level and situation in which we find ourselves within our own map of destiny, we will have to face different problems and compensate for certain needs, either in order to continue living or to improve our own development, increasing consequently the efficiency with which we are able to solve problems and satisfy needs.

On the one hand, living systems are driven to evolve, and on the other, they must seek stability and balance.

In order to maintain and improve our energy levels, we need physical, psycho-emotional and transpersonal nutrition, in this order. Our experience is based on these three aspects, which, despite being strongly interconnected, also maintain a certain independence between them. The interaction of the automaton and the selfhood, the balance between inertia and decision-making processes, are key to maintaining and improving these three parts.

Equilibrium is distributed in nature in the form of bands of energy that might be imagined, in their simplest form, as strata or layers. For each being and for each moment there is a limited number of possible energy bands in which one can continue to live and function. There are stable energy bands alternating with unstable ones, all of different "thicknesses", from the lowest and coarsest energy levels to the highest and most evolved. In energy bands where entropy slowly increases, the individual can "rest". However, in the energy bands in which entropy grows rapidly, the living being is forced to move up or down a band in order to regain balance. This is a very linear way of looking at things, however, in reality, the organization of the bands would resemble more of a fractal, in which for each place and time one can find oneself throughout one's life: there are a certain number of nearby places, some with a higher level of energy, and others with a lower one, some with stable properties and others of an unstable nature.

The peculiar thing about the stable equilibrium bands is that, contrary to what one might assume, being in one of them does not necessarily imply evolution or having solved the accumulated problems. The same goes for unstable bands; sometimes the evolution or resolution of certain problems leads, contrary to common sense, to having to pass through a band that is unstable, but with a higher level of energy. It is therefore possible to have some stability, at least for a while, at low energy levels, where there are a lot of unresolved problems, so that the individual or system will be "stuck" despite its apparent balance. In any case, aging (irreversible entropic changes linked to the passage of time) will at some point lead to an insurmountable loss of stability and of the energy level needed to continue living. While physical symmetry is greatly affected by the passage of time, gradually diminishing energy levels, in humans the psycho-emotional and transpersonal parts can continue to increase their energy levels and evolve, right up until the very moment of death.

The mechanisms of selection of objectives and decision making are the driving forces behind the successive changes in energy levels and, consequentially, in symmetry and evolution or involution throughout our lives. We choose, within the options available at any given time, what nutrition to give and what not to give to each of our three aspects (physical, psycho-emotional and transpersonal).

Involution is when a system moves towards lower energy bands, regardless of whether these are stable or unstable. This is in exchange for a loss in symmetry and functions that were previously present in the system. It is also the state in which one renounces the attainment of available potential developments (increased ignorance), sustaining pernicious inertias, maintaining situations of stagnation, ankylosis, and physical, psycho-emotional or transpersonal wear and tear. Involution leads to a predominance of perverse functions sustained by bad strategies (design anti-patterns) that generate entropy and inertia towards the misuse of the mechanism of selection of objectives and decision making.

Evolution is the change of state that a system undergoes in its search for higher energy bands, generating symmetry through the incorporation of positive learning (design patterns) that promote new functions or greater efficiency in existing ones, or, in other words, an increase in knowledge, understanding and skills.
